Game of Thrones Disappointment

One week later and I am still reeling, no exaggeration.  In an effort to be positive, there were four minutes that weren’t disappointing.

Even without the year plus of anticipation, my expectations far exceeded what was delivered.  I didn’t love the way it was shot, I didn’t care for the writing, and it all seemed a bit rushed though we know that it wasn’t.

I feel the worst for those who have read the books and watched from the beginning.  I tried to watch but couldn’t get into it.  It wasn’t until maybe the fifth season that I got hooked.

When it was announced that the eighth season wouldn’t begin until April of this year, I went back and unsuccessfully tried to watch from the beginning.  Now glad that I didn’t waste time I didn’t have.

As tempting as it may be, I will not be watching any spinoffs.  I’m not hating on and cancelling HBO as some are.  I am excited to watch season 2 of Big Little Lies next month.  The first season was remarkable and now they’re adding Meryl Streep to the cast.  Tune in June 9, 2019 for the premiere.
